Jambiani Village Tour

About the tour

Jambiani is a traditional, fishing village located alongside a stunning stretch of coastline.
The village itself, with its collection of thatch and coral-rag houses, is stretched out over more than 7 kilometers.

The sea is an ethereal shade of turquoise and is usually dotted with local wooden Ngalawas (outrigger canoes), while on the beach women tend seaweed farms.

Jambiani is in general
more quiet than Paje and Nungwi, and the village benefits from fairly good services – there is a post office, a bakery, a nursery,
a primary and secondary school, as well as a tourism training institute, which creates a noticeable sense of community spirit.

In fact, Jambiani is probably one of the best places on the island to gain an insight into the Zanzibari village life.
